Southwell Racecourse is set in the East Midlands countryside, and hosts both jump and flat action with the flat action being both turf and all weather, although the latest turf meeting was in 2008. Southwell is certainly not posh but the viewing is great and is a must for real racing fans.

Key Characteristics

The turf course at Southwell is used for both National Hunt and flat racing. It lies within the all weather track and is consequently one furlong shorter. They only hold one or two flat meetings on the Turf at Southwell.

The course is quite a tight course and therefore tends to favour front runners.
