KEMPTON PARK RACECOURSE

Kempton Park Racecourse has undergone significant redevelopment in the last 5 years and is now a thoroughly modern racecourse. It is based near Richmond in Surrey and is easily accessible from London by Train, and is in actual fact the closest racecourse to London. Probably the biggest Jump race that Kempton Park holds is the King George V1 Chase.

Key Characteristics

Kempton Park Racecourse is a flat triangular course of a mile and five furlongs with nine fences per circuit. It requires a horse with some speed to be successful at Kempton, although it is also a hard jumping test. It is said to resemble the easy French provincial courses and this could explain the good record that French horses have at the course.
