What the pattern suggests
The seven furlong races at Epsom are run around a tight left-hand bend, and horses drawn on the inside appear to hold a small advantage. Interestingly, though, horses drawn in the highest 2 stalls win a lot of races too — possibly because the stand-side rail is sometimes the best place to be, so being drawn outside and able to tack across to it is an advantage. It's worth checking what bias exists at a particular meeting to see if that stand-side effect is present.
