Pontefract Racecourse is set in West Yorkshire, and is definitely a course for the diehard's rather than the casual racegoer.

Key Characteristics

Pontefract is a two mile left handed course. The last three furlongs are up a steep hill, and this is probably the most testing finish in the country. Overall the course is very undulating and is all about stamina, stamina and more stamina.
